An important meeting between the President of the Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce Giuseppe Marino, accompanied by Vice President Federico Franchina, and the CEO of the Cyprus Maritime and Maritime Institute Zacharias Siochourus was held in Venice on 21 January, on the occasion of the Regional Workshops for the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
The meting was an opportunity to discuss about the development of the activities of CMMI in the coming months and the important prospects for cooperation with Italian universities and research bodies as well as with excellent Italian companies specialized in the marine and maritime sector.
The Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) is a center of studies of excellence in the marine and maritime sector in Cyprus that was born within the European project MaRITeC-X financed by Horizon 2020 and will represent the main reference center for the development of all activities related to the Blue Economy in the area.
During the meeting it was also discussed the entry into the Advisory Board of CMMI, as soon as it will be established, of the Vice President of the Chamber Federico Franchina, qualified Associate Professor in Navigation Law and Phd in Maritime Law.
