OMC Med Energy Conference and Exhibition, Ravenna 2021.

The OMC Med Energy Conference and Exhibition was held in Ravenna, Italy from 28th to 30th September 2021.

Transition to a low carbon economy and worldwide access to resources are the big challenges for today’s energy sector. To achieve this target a multi-action strategy is essential, based on GHG reduction, a resilient portfolio of hydrocarbons with natural gas playing a central role, and the expansion of circular economy and renewable resources.

OMC 2021 has aimed at facilitating discussions among the energy sectors in order to share competences and capabilities and find together the most effective way to reach these ambitious targets. In this context, this year  Conference titled “Rethinking Energy together: alliances for a sustainable Energy future” represented the framework where offered a wide panel of interventions weather it is institutional, business-related or technical.

OMC also hosted really prestigious panels including the Ministerial Panel with the participation of the Minister of Energy of Cyprus Natasa Pilides, the Commissioner for Energy of the European Commission Kadri Simson, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt Tarek el Molla and various CEOs of the energy sector such as Bernard Looney (BP) and Torger Rod (Var Energi).

The Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, always focused contribute to the development of economic, commercial, technical, legal, scientific and cultural cooperation between Italy and Cyprus, was present in OMC with a stand that was also visited by the Minister of Energy of Cyprus accompanied by the Ambassador of Cyprus to Italy and by the delegation from the Country.

In its participation in the OMC Med Energy Conference and Exhibition, the Chamber further enhanced its institutional role of promoting awareness about Energy Transition, Renewables Energies, Green Hydrogen and Circular Economy, informing and promoting also about the important linked business opportunities for Italian companies in Cyprus.

The participation of the Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce was really successful also considering the relevant interest on business development in Cyprus showed by the numerous Italian companies that visited the stand as a further confirmation of the key role in creating synergies between Italian and Cypriot companies in the Mediterranean region  by promoting the awareness that clean energies, natural gas and renewables can play an important role in the region in collaboration with the oil and gas industry of the future.

The Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, being highly involved in the Energy sector, joined with particular interest the OMC Event which ensured diverse energy related stakeholders come together around aligned goals and co-operate for a sustainable development of the planet and the communities.

Following the same line, the Chamber is supporting the Eastern Mediterranean Conference and Exhibition (EMC www.emc-cyprus.com) that will take place in Nicosia from 10 to 12 November 2021 and in this regard is promoting special conditions for the participation to its members.
