The third edition of the Risorsa Mare Forum, organized by TEHA in collaboration with the Minister for Civil Protection and Sea Policies, Nello Musumeci, and under the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, took place in Civitavecchia on September 25-26 and featured the presence of prominent representatives from the Italian and European government and institutions.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni opened the forum with a video message emphasizing Italy’s strategic role in the Mediterranean, a theme that was addressed from various perspectives by the different ministers in attendance.
The European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans Costas Kadis, delivered a welcoming address to the numerous attendees who then witnessed the presentation of the Blue Book Risorsa Mare 2025 by Valerio de Molli, Managing Partner & CEO of TEHA AMBROSETTI.
The document revealed that the Italian Blue Economy generated 217 billion euros in 2023 – over 11% of GDP – examining the various sectors that contributed to this result, ranging from shipbuilding to ports, from fisheries to tourism and underwater technologies.
An important contribution to the forum was also provided by Dr. Ioannis Voudouris, Associate Professor of Maritime Law at Frederick University Cyprus, who delivered a presentation entitled “Developments and Prospects for Maritime Professionals” offering interesting academic and operational insights.
The event was a further opportunity to emphasize the importance of strategic cooperation between Italy and Cyprus in the Mediterranean area, which has historically represented an area of particular interest for the Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce.
