The ‘Round Aeolian Race’ kicked off on Thursday 30 September in Sicily, with 40 crews from all over Italy. The Seven Sisters Islands of the Mar Tirreno represented the race course for the third edition of the ‘Round Aeolian Race‘. The exciting competitive event for offshore sailing boats started from Capo d’Orlando, the tourist port of the town of Messina located right in front of the Aeolian Islands, which are recognized as UNESCO heritage and that marked the path of boats that will have to return by Saturday 2 October after having traveled 140 nautical miles without stopping. The event, organized by the local Yacht Club, it is included in the federal calendars a regatta of national interest.
The Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, committed in supporting the regatta, had an exhibition stand, as the event has been an important occasion to promote the maritime cluster and to enhance new synergies between the Mediterranean Islands.
